Recycle Colorado is happy to announce our 2025 Design Contest: Design a Colorado Eco Hero

Recycle Colorado is excited to launch a new creative challenge for students across the state! Instead of our traditional poster contest, we are inviting K–12 students to design a Colorado Eco Hero, a mascot inspired by a real Colorado animal who helps protect our state through recycling, composting, reuse, and waste reduction.

What would a mountain-loving waste hero look like? What animal would step up to protect Colorado’s land, water, wildlife and your future? Now it’s your turn to decide!

We hope you and your classroom are able to participate this year. Instructions for designing your mascot and submitting your design as well as social posts to help get the word out are attached and on our website. Please share this information with others who may be interested in participating!

¡Materiales del concurso de diseño en español!

We are excited to offer our deisgn contest materials in Spanish as well. Los materiales del concurso de carteles en español se adjuntan y se pueden descargar desde nuestro sitio web.

ParentSquare: Our New District Communication Tool

St. Vrain Valley Schools will begin using ParentSquare, a new district communication tool that allows families to receive notifications based on their preferences. St. Vrain’s communications team will pilot ParentSquare for the remainder of the school year with the plan to expand access to schools at the start of the 2026-27 school year. We’re excited about the opportunities ParentSquare offers to streamline communication and will be working towards consolidating several of the tools families currently use into one convenient platform.

After spring break, parents and guardians will receive an email invitation to activate their ParentSquare account. This will allow families to download the mobile app, set language preferences, and choose how and when they receive notifications.

Visit the district website to learn more about ParentSquare.
