Dear Thunder Valley Families,
As we head into the last week before spring break, we have a busy few days ahead of us! Wrestling wraps up today and tomorrow! Today, Friday, March 6th, we have a 6th grade only meet at Mead High School. Tomorrow, Saturday, March 7th, there is the 7th/8th grade meet at Mead High School. We are so proud of our student athletes’ growth this season and wish them the best at the end of season meets!
Tonight, Friday, March 6th, we have the Little Mermaid Jr. performance at 7:00 pm. There are also performances on Saturday, Match 7th at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. Next week, on Tuesday, March 10th, there is a middle school choir concert in the auditorium at 6:00 pm.
There are a couple of special SVVSD events this week. Tomorrow, the Future Ready Festival is at Silver Creek High School from 2:00-6:00pm. See more information below! Come see the Innovation Center’s Drone Performance on Friday, March 13th! Show time will begin at 7:30 pm and the best viewing location will be righ here at Thunder Valley K8! The CMAS testing information
Dates: Math and Language Arts April 7th through 14th
Science testing (5th and 8th Grade only): April 15th through the 17th
Times: 8:35 am through 11:00 am
Please avoid appointments during these times so that your child will not need to makeup their testing session. Please support your child by helping them come to school with a good nights sleep so that they are fully rested and prepared for the day. We appreciate your support.

Registration Open for Elementary Project Launch
Academic proficiency is an important district goal for elementary students. Research shows that extended school year learning opportunities positively impact student success.
Project Launch Program Includes:
- Targeted literacy practice daily
- Content literacy in science and social studies
- Focused math study and exploration
- Transportation provided for those who qualify from predetermined bus stops
- Breakfast and lunch provided
- Exiting Kindergarten – 4th Grade Students
- Available at no cost to families

Attendance all 16 days is critical
We will close individual grade levels when full.
Space is limited! To register, please contact your school or teacher for a registration form, and return your completed form to either your child’s teacher, or the school office. There is no online registration format. You will be notified if your child is placed on a waitlist for this program.
Middle School Project Launch!
We are currently accepting registrations for our upcoming STEM Project Launch Summer Program. Please see the attached registration form for more information. You can bring the registration to the front office or email Mr. Elwood. This is open to our current 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students. Email Mr. Elwood at [email protected] for more information.
The musical is coming! March 6th at 7:00pm and March 7th at 11:00am and 3:00pm!

Come see the Innovation Center’s Drone Performance on March 13, 2026 as they put on a Drone Show to kick off the Elementary State Robotics Championship! Show time will begin at 7:30 pm! Best viewing location will be at Thunder Valley K8.
Track and Field Registration begins February 23rd!
The Health Office is currently seeking leggings or sweatpants only sizes small, medium and large. We can accept any gently used and clean clothing. Thank you so much for your support!
Parents/guardians shall be required to furnish an explanation for student absenteeism either in writing or orally. Absences not explained within two days after returning to school shall be recorded as unexcused absences unless unusual or extenuating circumstances exist as determined by the building administrator. After 10 excused or unexcused absences, a doctors note is required. Communication is key to successful attendance.
