
Dear Thunder Valley Families,
As February comes to an end, it has been a great month practicing Spark the Heart/Kindness. Our CKH focus for March is Step Up!/Courage. On Wednesday, March 4th, we our PLC/Late Start. School starts at 11:05 am, with drop-off beginning at 10:50 am.
The end of the wrestling season is upon us and there are several meets this week. On Monday, March 2nd, there is an away wrestling meet at Mead Middle School. On Friday, March 6th there is a 6th grade only meet at Mead High School. On Saturday, March 7th, there is the 7th/8th grade meet at Mead High School. We are so proud of our student athletes’ growth this season and wish them the best at the end of season meets!
Next week we have the Little Mermaid Jr. performances on Friday, March 6th at 6:00 pm. There are also performances on Saturday, Match 7th at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm.
For your planning purposes, we wanted to bring to your attention that CMAS starts on Tuesday, April 7th. Please see below for additional information.

The CMAS testing information
Dates: Math and Language Arts April 7th through 14th
Science testing (5th and 8th Grade only): April 15th through the 17th
Times: 8:35 am through 11:00 am
Please avoid appointments during these times so that your child will not need to makeup their testing session. Please support your child by helping them come to school with a good nights sleep so that they are fully rested and prepared for the day. We appreciate your support.

Middle School Project Launch!
We are currently accepting registrations for our upcoming STEM Project Launch Summer Program. Please see the attached registration form for more information. You can bring the registration to the front office or email Mr. Elwood. This is open to our current 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students. Email Mr. Elwood at [email protected] for more information.

Hello 5210+ Champions,
You’ve made it to the final week of the Healthy Kids 5210+ Challenge! We hope you’ve enjoyed practicing healthy habits with your school.
Here are a few key reminders as we wrap up:
Submission window
The online submission form opens Thursday, 2/26 at 7:00am. You’ll find the submission link printed three times on each log, and this year we’ve added a QR code for quick access.

The form closes on Thursday, 3/5 at 9:00pm, and once it’s closed, it won’t reopen—so be sure to submit before then!
Earn your T‑shirt
All PK–5 students and staff who submit their form online and earn 80 or more check marks will receive a free T‑shirt.
Every log counts
Submissions with 10 or more checkmarks still count toward the school’s overall participation and can help the school earn wellness initiative funding.

Track and Field Registration begins February 23rd!






The Health Office is currently seeking leggings or sweatpants only sizes small, medium and large. We can accept any gently used and clean clothing. Thank you so much for your support!

Parents/guardians shall be required to furnish an explanation for student absenteeism either in writing or orally. Absences not explained within two days after returning to school shall be recorded as unexcused absences unless unusual or extenuating circumstances exist as determined by the building administrator. After 10 excused or unexcused absences, a doctors note is required. Communication is key to successful attendance.
