Our students are in the midst of CMAS and are doing awesome. We are so proud of how hard they have worked to show their learning and growth during testing. Thank you for supporting your student by helping them come to school with a good night’s sleep so that they are fully rested and prepared for the day.
The district art show is next week. Make sure to see the information below and support our amazing students!
On Monday, April 14th, there is a track meet at Twin Peaks. Also on Monday, April 14th, there is an away soccer game at Sunset MS. On Friday, April 18th, there is the 6th grade track meet at Mead High School. We are so proud of our athletes and the growth they are showing this year!
Thunder Valley is hosting Project Launch in June. It is an extended learning opportunity for our students. If you are interested in having your student attend, please see the attached information below.

CMAS Testing Information
Dates: Math and Language Arts: April 8th through 15th
Science testing (5th and 8th Grade only): April 16th through the 18th
Times: 8:35 am through 11:00 am
Please avoid appointments during these times so that your child will not need to makeup their testing session. Please support your child by helping them come to school with a good nights sleep so that they are fully rested and prepared for the day. We appreciate your support.
5th to 6th Grade Transition Night – Join Us!
Attention 5th Grade Families! We are excited to invite you to our 5th to 6th Grade Transition Night on Tuesday, April 29th from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
This special event is designed to help students and parents feel prepared and confident about the exciting move to middle school. You’ll have the opportunity to:
-Learn about class schedules and expectations
– See the 6th grade classrooms
-Discover extracurricular activities and clubs
-Get answers to all your questions!

Thunder Valley K 8 is finalizing their quantity to order with Jostens. Time is running out to guarantee a yearbook for your student. Thunder Valley K 8 will not be ordering many extra books and those few books will be sold first come, first served in the sequence of date/time purchased. There is no guarantee of a yearbook if you don’t place your order at this time.

St. Vrain’s Unframed Art Show live at the Boulder County Fairgrounds Exhibition Hall from April 15-20. Please join us at the Boulder County Fairgrounds Exhibition Hall from April 15-20 for the public viewing of artworks from all grade levels and schools across the St. Vrain Valley. Different mediums will be featured including ceramics, digital art/photography, drawing, jewelry making, metalwork, mixed media, painting, and printmaking.

Parents/guardians shall be required to furnish an explanation for student absenteeism either in writing or orally. Absences not explained within two days after returning to school shall be recorded as unexcused absences unless unusual or extenuating circumstances exist as determined by the building administrator. After 10 excused or unexcused absences, a doctors note is required. Communication is key to successful attendance. We’ll have STEM activities, a Make and Take section, and content specific STEM events in each of our focus areas, which include: Artificial Intelligence, Aerospace, Biosciences, Cybersecurity, Digital & Virtual Design, Entrepreneurship, Robotics, and Video Production. In addition, we’ll have larger outdoor STEM opportunities, the Student Design Guild, and Cardboard Carnival Games! Come to play from 4:30-6:30.
