As St. Vrain Valley Schools continues to advance our programs that support our youngest learners, we are proud to announce a new partnership with the LENA Research Foundation and the OUR Center in Longmont that will prepare infants and toddlers (0-3 years) for school by encouraging parents to talk and engage more with their children.
Do you ever miss that sense of exploration and curiosity you had as a kid? If the answer is ‘yes,’ we have the event for you. St. Vrain Valley Schools is hosting its first ever VEX Robotics Showcase from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 9. Open to the public, the event an evening of the same fun, hands-on robotics play, learning and experimentation that St. Vrain students relish day-in and day-out, in both class and extracurricular settings.
Think back to when you were a student, back-to-school shopping, finding your classroom, and the exciting lessons that would soon fill your day. The first day of school jitters that were calmed by the friendly, welcoming face, and celebrating the “ah ha” moments when you finally figured out how to solve the problem. Then there was the time in kindergarten, when you went to the restroom but couldn’t remember the way back to your classroom. As panic set in, that friendly face walked around the corner and they knew exactly where your classroom was.
The Innovation Station grant was made possible by Otter Products employees during The OtterCares Foundation’s annual “Get It, Grow It, Give It (G3) Challenge” fundraising campaign. Established in 2010 by Nancy Richardson as the charitable arm of OtterBox, the OtterCares Foundation believes one young and inspired mind can change the world - and they plan to do just that at Thunder Valley K-8.
