11:45 a.m. – Lockout lifted, classes to resume normal schedule

Dear Parent and Guardians,

I Teach Because...

Think back to when you were a student, back-to-school shopping, finding your classroom, and the exciting lessons that would soon fill your day. The first day of school jitters that were calmed by the friendly, welcoming face, and celebrating the “ah ha” moments when you finally figured out how to solve the problem. Then there was the time in kindergarten, when you went to the restroom but couldn’t remember the way back to your classroom. As panic set in, that friendly face walked around the corner and they knew exactly where your classroom was.

Thunder Valley K-8 Awarded $12,500 Grant by The OtterCares Foundation

The Innovation Station grant was made possible by Otter Products employees during The OtterCares Foundation’s annual “Get It, Grow It, Give It (G3) Challenge” fundraising campaign. Established in 2010 by Nancy Richardson as the charitable arm of OtterBox, the OtterCares Foundation believes one young and inspired mind can change the world - and they plan to do just that at Thunder Valley K-8.

SVVSD implements new math curriculum; digits

The digits platform was the top choice for both academic rigor and versatility for teachers and students and was designed to act as a fully digital math program.
