Zach Brake

Mr. Zach Brake is the Director of Bands at Thunder Valley K-8, where he teaches concert band, beginning band, jazz ensemble and music electives.

Mr. Brake attended the University of Colorado at Boulder. While at CU, he studied euphonium and tuba with Professor Mike Dunn, trombone with Professor Bill Stanley and conducting with Dr. Matthew Roeder and Dr. Donald McKinney. He graduated in 2016, earning a Bachelor of Music Education with highest honors and a Certificate in Music Technology.
 
Mr. Brake is a current member of the Colorado Bandmaster’s Association.  He is the bandleader of the Guerrilla Fanfare Brass Band, an ensemble he founded in 2015, and an original member of the Fire It Up Brass Band. He is a current member of the Royal Street Rambles swing band.  When he is not teaching or performing, Mr. Brake enjoys yoga, casual gaming, cooking, and practicing.  Mr. Brake feels fortunate to educate at Thunder Valley K-8.
